Greetings all, I'm Shane. While I've enjoyed photography for a long time, I have only recently (within the last year or so) started to get more serious about it. The majority of the older pictures I've posted here so far are from a Canon A80 or A95. While it served me well, there are just too many limits inherent in compact digital cameras that were keeping me from pushing my own limits as a photographer. So I finally gave in and bought myself a Nikon D70 dSLR. I hope to learn this camera just as well as I did my trusty A80 and eventually start selling some of my work, either as prints or for publication.
My main reason for joining Deviant Art was to get some feedback on my work from fellow photographers and artists. I'm not looking for ego boosts or pats on the back for mediocre work, that's only going to make me complacent. I only ask that you honestly and fairly evaluate my pictures and share some constructive criticism. If something is good, tell me what makes it so, if something is bad I'd like to know what you would change to make it better.
I do limit most of my images to a resolution of about 640x480 because I like to retain control over how and where my work is displayed, especially in regards to commercial usage, but I am usually more than happy to provide high resolution versions to individuals upon request. Just shoot me a message saying what image you want, at what resolution, the email address you'd like it sent to, and a quick note on what you wish to use it for and I'll get back to you soon.
So far this seems like a great community, I look forward to interacting with more of you. I'm almost always open to collaborations, so if you are interested in working together sometime, feel free to ask. I'm also always looking for new models and/or locations to shoot at, so if you are able to help with either, let me know.
